With over a decade of experience in healthcare management and nursing, Tasa Zilic specialises in complex nursing and neuro rehabilitation since 2018. As the Registered Manager at Hamberley Neurocare Southampton, Tasa brings extensive expertise to the field of healthcare management. She began her career as a paramedic and A&E coordinator, gaining invaluable insights into acute care settings before transitioning into a leadership role focused on long-term rehabilitation.
Prior to joining Hamberley Neurocare, she enhanced and developed neuro rehab services across various settings. Tasa's passion for complex nursing and rehabilitation has been the driving force behind her career, fuelling her commitment to delivering exceptional care and driving continuous improvement. At previous services, she managed a significant transformation, transitioning a regular nursing home into a renowned centre for high-complexity neuro rehabilitation care.
Tasa's steadfast dedication to advancing patient outcomes and service excellence underscores her role as a leader in the healthcare community. Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine
Dr Mamo is the clinical lead for Neurological Rehabilitation at the Royal Berkshire and West Berkshire Community Hospital. Dr Mamo supports patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and neurodegenerative diseases.
Clinical Lead
Andreea Leonov provides clinical leadership at Hamberley Neurocare Southampton, ensuring high-quality patient care and coordinating multidisciplinary efforts to drive positive outcomes. She is committed to continuous improvement, staff development, and delivering patient-centred care.
Originally qualifying as a general nurse in Romania, Andreea began her career in the UK working with dementia patients before specialising in brain and spinal injuries. She has since undertaken specialised training to deepen her expertise in neurological rehabilitation.
Andreea is passionate about making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives, supporting their recovery, and enhancing their quality of life. She believes in promoting dignity, independence, and empowerment while developing a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
Outside of work, she enjoys CrossFit and hiking, helping her maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Therapy Lead
Karen Murray leads the therapy team at Hamberley Neurocare Southampton, ensuring high-quality, resident-centred neurological rehabilitation. She is dedicated to clinical excellence, professional development, and fostering a collaborative approach across therapeutic disciplines.
Karen’s passion for neurological physiotherapy began while working as a therapy technician on a stroke unit in Wales. After qualifying as a physiotherapist, she gained experience across multiple specialities before specialising in neurological rehabilitation. She has held senior roles in both private and NHS settings, including 10 years leading the physiotherapy team on an acute and hyper-acute stroke unit in Southampton.
She later expanded her expertise into the neuromodulation industry, focusing on chronic pain and movement disorders. Now, she brings her leadership and clinical knowledge to Hamberley Neurocare, driving excellence in therapy services.
Karen finds the most rewarding part of her work is making a difference—big or small—to someone’s quality of life after a neurological injury or diagnosis. Outside of work, she has represented Great Britain in Underwater Hockey at European and World Championships.
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Lizzie Griffett is a highly qualified Clinical Psychologist with a robust background in mental health care. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Leicester, where she focused on evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
Dr Griffett has extensive experience working with diverse populations across various settings, including hospitals, community clinics, and private practice. Her areas of expertise encompass cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care.
At Hamberley Neurocare Southampton, she is dedicated to providing personalised psychological assessments and interventions, helping residents navigate challenges and enhance their quality of life. Dr Griffett's compassionate and person-centred approach ensures that each individual receives tailored support in a safe and understanding environment.
Occupational Therapist
Sasha Timms supports residents at Hamberley Neurocare Southampton to regain independence through meaningful activity. She works closely with individuals to develop personalised rehabilitation plans that enable them to rebuild essential life skills.
Originally studying Psychology, Sasha began working in neurorehabilitation alongside her studies and developed a passion for occupational therapy. She went on to qualify as an Occupational Therapist while working in neurological rehab services across Oxford and Hampshire.
She has extensive experience supporting individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injuries, using a person-centred approach to help residents achieve their goals. Sasha finds the most rewarding part of her role is seeing residents re-engage in activities they thought were no longer possible.
She believes that if a resident has a goal, there is always a way to work towards achieving it.
