Camberley will soon be home to one of the UK’s leading neurological rehabilitation services following the official start of construction.

The team behind the multi-million pound Hamberley Neurocare centre marked the start of the build with a ground breaking ceremony at the site on Fernhill Road.

The Hamberley Neurocare centre will provide rehab and long-term care for people with complex needs including those resulting from brain and spinal injuries.

Featuring therapy and medical consulting rooms, a therapy gym fitted with state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment including robotics, the purpose-built facility will be ideally located to support the nearby Frimley Park Hospital.

Michelle Kudhail, Director of Specialist Services for Hamberley Neurocare, said that the Hamberley Neurocare centre would provide much needed neurological rehabilitation services for the region.

“To provide truly leading-edge neurological rehab services requires the perfect blend of outstanding facilities and skilled staff. What we are building here in Camberley will allow us to do just that and deliver the very best complex care services. There is currently a lack of this type of service in the local area so today’s ground breaking ceremony really does mark a vital leap forward in healthcare provision for the town and the wider region. Hamberley Neurocare Camberley will enable individuals to stay near their families and their support networks, which is so vital during their care and rehabilitation.”

Hamberley Neurocare Camberley is being built by construction firm Highwood for the award-winning healthcare developer Hamberley Development.

Karl Roche, Construction Manager at Highwood, said:

“We’re very pleased to be working with our care partner, Hamberley Development, on this, the second neurological facility for Hamberley Neurocare. It’s a privilege to be building another of the UK’s most advanced neurological rehabilitation centres that will deliver world-class care for those with complex care needs.”

Complete with 58 ensuite bedrooms and two spacious self-contained independent living apartments, Hamberley Neurocare Camberley will be a leading centre for the region.

The state-of-the-art neuro-rehab centre also includes lounges, dining rooms, cinema and a café bar.

In attendance for the ground breaking ceremony were Michelle Kudhail, Director of Specialist Services at Hamberley Neurocare; John Austin, Managing Director, Hamberley Development and Colin Paddock, Project Manager, Highwood.

Hamberley Neurocare Camberley will provide rehabilitation, long-term, respite and palliative care for people with brain and spinal injuries as well as neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and Huntington’s disease.

Hamberley Neurocare Camberley will become home to adults with complex needs in the heart of the community. Set to open in 2024, to learn more about the developments and to be kept informed about the progress of the build, please get in touch via the form below.
